JOB MISSION:

The Inventory Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that inventory is accurately recorded and reconciled across all systems in accordance with the deadlines provided. The person in this position will have full ownership of inventory accounting, ensuring adequate controls are in place to monitor and flag areas of concern to management. The Inventory Accountant will also be responsible for ensuring variances are investigated, understood, and reported clearly and concisely to stakeholders.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Monthly reconciliation and accounting for inventory and related transactions.

• Review and analysis of stock movements and work with associated departments to develop controls and continuous process improvements.

• Calculate and process monthly inventory provision accruals and utilisations.

• Calculate quarterly profit eliminations in inventory and rolling forecast.

• Working closely with the DTC retail team in calculating inventory shrinkage rates to determine potential causes of theft or loss.

• Maintaining an inventory of all inventory items held by the company based on location, channel, and age profile.

• Assist with annual audit requirements for inventory.

• Assist the inventory controller with monthly reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and other ad hoc requirements.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject: Finance, accounting, Economics, Business.

• Relevant number of years post-qualified experience (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or accounting equivalent).

• Knowledge and experience working in a similar role is preferred.

• English language proficiency is required.

• Team player, strong communication skills, and able to develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues across the region.

• Organised, structured, able to manage priorities and work to tight deadlines.

• Motivated with a proactive mindset focused on continual improvement of reporting.

• Problem-solving mindset and continuous collaboration with others in finding solutions to challenges as well as ways to improve processes or develop new methods in managing inventory.

•  High degree of accuracy and eye for detail.

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and ability to pick up new IT systems quickly.

• Power Query, Power Pivots, and PowerBI would be advantageous.
