JOB MISSION:

The Merchandising Operations Internship role supports with various tasks related to the planning, coordination, and execution of merchandising strategies in New Balance, Direct to Consumer.

This role is ideal for strategic thinkers & data analysts that have a passion for DTC and the Sports Industry.

As an intern at New Balance, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your goals, and refine your skillset, and you’ll also be encouraged to make an impact.

Based in our Amsterdam Office we offer hybrid working and flexible working hours to accommodate for a healthy work-life balance, ideally 2-3 days in the office. This is a 6-month internship with the opportunity for this to be extended.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assisting with inventory management: This includes tracking inventory levels, monitoring stock movement, and ensuring that products are available in sufficient quantities to meet customer demand.

  • Assisting with merchandising campaigns: This involves helping to plan and execute promotional campaigns, sales events, and other initiatives such as supporting the Merchandising team during EOSS period.

  • Ensuring price consistency and correct price upload on the New Balance platform. The pricing process involves setting and managing prices for merchandise. This may include tasks such as conducting pricing analysis, competitive benchmarking, and determining pricing strategies based on factors such as cost, market demand, competition, and profitability. It also involves implementing price changes, discounts, promotions, and markdowns as needed.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams: Merchandising operations interns will work closely with other departments such as marketing, retail operations, and logistics to coordinate efforts and ensure that merchandising strategies align with overall business objectives.

  • Learning and professional development: Interns have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in merchandising operations and develop valuable skills in areas such as project management, data analysis, and communication.

  • Cross-functional working with all DTC Channels (Ecommerce, Marketplace, Outlet, and Inline).

  • The process improvement involves continuously evaluating and optimizing merchandise operations processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. This may include tasks such as identifying process gaps, implementing process improvements & leveraging technology solutions.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Highly analytical.

  • Data input and analysis.

  • Strong communication at all levels.

  • Multi-tasking and organizational awareness.

  • Excellent Excel skills and the ability to pick up new systems.

  • Applicants need to be based in the Netherlands.
