JOB MISSION:

The Financial Accountant, EMEA will provide support to the EMEA Treasury Manager and EMEA Financial Controllers across EMEA general ledger, financial control and VAT. This is a brand-new position within our expanding Finance Team. We are looking for someone who can work in a fast-paced environment, provide insight and knowledge to the wider Finance Team and provide solutions to challenges. This role is based in our EMEA Head Office in Warrington. We offer hybrid working and a flexibility to working hours to accommodate for a healthy work life balance.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Specific responsibilities to change to meet business requirements where required, tasks will include
  • Standardise processes and perform Intercompany Reconciliations across the region, at month end, managing the relationships with subsidiaries around the region
  • Capital monitoring / Fixed Asset management of the ledgers for the EMEA region
  • Manage the Balance Sheet reconciliations for the region, ensuring completeness, appropriate controls and timely reconciliations are performed, investigating variances and report upwards
  • Bridge between payroll and accounting including payroll reconciliations
  • VAT, Intrastat and EC Sales reporting for all European entities
  • Be the go-to person between the transactional reporting team in Warrington and local Financial Controllers across the EMEA, offering support, reports and any information required;
  • Year end and annual audit assistance across the region to ensure a smooth year end
  • Financial accounting, journal postings, month end accounting.
     

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Post qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a financial accounting background
  • Degree in relevant subject: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business is desirable
  • Knowledge of General Ledger accounting across multiple European entities and financial control, ideally Indirect tax knowledge
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment, multi-entity environment
  • Team player, strong communication skills and able to develop and maintain strong relationship with colleagues
  • Organised, structured, able to manage priorities and work to tight deadlines
  • Motivated with pro-active mindset
  • High degree of accuracy and eye for detail
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Additional language skills such as French, German or Dutch is desirable
