Timberland is looking for an exceptional Senior Designer Womenswear to join our Apparel Design team based in Stabio, Switzerland.

Let’s Talk about the Role

You as Senior Designer Women Apparel will deliver multi-product women’s apparel design, ensuring alignment with the brand seasonal direction and the global business needs.

You will utilize design skills to create product, everything from technical outerwear to comfort focused knits, that meet expectations in terms of value and cost. Be self-motivated whilst interacting constantly with category team members in Development and Product management to deliver the appropriate execution for the target consumer audience.

Ensure design practicality and meet merchandising business needs.

Support the Design Manager to create apparel that meets relevant trends and leverages the brand DNA of Style, Performance and Green where applicable.

How You Will Make a Difference

You will achieve this by:

  • Delivering seasonal inspiration, style & product research which is market relevant and adapted to fit the Timberland Brand identity.
  • Designing multi-category, Brand relevant, stand out product.  Everything from technical outerwear to comfort focused knits, that meet expectations in terms of value and cost.
  • Collaborating with Product Developer and Product Merchandiser in execution of seasonal concepts and briefs.
  • Working in close partnership with Material specialists, Product Developer, Product Merchandiser and Design Manager to build seasonal and core material palettes.
  • Producing factory ready sketches and tech packs. 
  • Working alongside Product Development to build, process and book prototypes and production samples.  Ensuring they deliver to the Brands high standard on style, fit, quality, and detail expectations.
  • Developing awareness of our channel of distribution in EMEA, AP, NA regions

Skills for Success

  • You should be an exceptional creative thinker driven to deliver best in class Brand relevant products.  
  • Expertise in Apparel design with demonstrated strength in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Email (Outlook) In-Design, Keynote, Excel and Word.
  • Thorough understanding of the Women’s Apparel market, including 6+ years of Apparel Product Design with similar brand(s) or organization(s)
  • Strong presentation skills, fluent English is essential, additional language is a plus.
  • Proficiency in 3D Product Creation Software eg: Browswear, CLO.
  • Capability to work collaboratively with other departments and be a facilitator in negotiations.
  • Keen interest in Brand building and identity

A formal education and subsequent University Bachelor or Master’s degree in Apparel or Consumer Product Design are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
