Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As the Director, Finance – APAC, you are responsible as the leader of the Finance function within our APAC Business. In this role, you specifically lead teams in support of the Japan, Australia, and Korea finance teams at Arc’teryx. You, along with your team will support the region’s growth plans through ownership of the APAC financial reporting and planning cycle, including the long-range planning process, annual operating plan, forecasting processes and monthly reporting. In addition to financial planning, you will review monthly performance and work closely with Group shared services/portfolio support, local and Brand HQ accounting teams to ensure accuracy and completeness with our financial close. You will provide senior management with the analysis to understand business trends, make investment decisions and track and monitor performance to enable the region to deliver on its goals.
Meet Your Future Team:
The Finance team at Arc’teryx is responsible for providing leadership with the information they need to review past performance, understand business trends, and anticipate future profitability and financial position. Through review of trends, variance analysis and KPI tracking, finance advises leadership on key investment decisions and drives performance improvement.
If you were in the Director, Finance – APAC role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Planning, forecasting, reporting and partnering effectively with the GM, APAC and the APAC leadership team to deliver the regional P&L
- Lead and build a high performing regional Brand Finance team, developing future leaders at Arc’teryx
- Preparing and maintaining the long-range 5 year plan for the APAC region
- Connecting the regional strategy with the key drivers, inputs and investments required to deliver on the regional plans
- Driving the annual planning cycle, including setting financial goals, managing calendar and milestones in accordance with Brand HQ guidelines
- Leading key review discussions with Regional leadership team (budget, quarterly forecasting), and present plans to Brand leadership and Brand HQ Finance
- Leading the APAC FP&A team performing daily/weekly/monthly sales and financial reviews and leading the assessment of risks and opportunities against our plans
- Plan, forecast and report against our SG&A and expense plans for the region
- Provide decision support and analysis to support our Regional departments and functions
- Work with Group portfolio accounting support and Brand HQ accounting teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly and quarterly financial close, with the aim to continuously improve the process.
- Developing the process for key regional investment and capital spending projects. You critically assess business cases, and conduct post completion reviews of budget vs actual spend
- Bringing insights and best practices to drive process improvement and innovative thinking.
Are you our next Director, Finance – APAC?
- You have 12+ years’ experience of financial leadership, ideally with a focus in the retail industry with experience working in an global, matrixed organization
- You have a university degree in Commerce or Business Administration coupled with CPA or MBA
- You have exceptional analytical and modeling skills and expert knowledge of financial statements
- You have demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization
- You can step in and take charge with minimum instruction
- You can prioritize and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You have experience working with BI tools and multi-platform, multi-currency environments
- Familiar with global ERPs (such as SAP) and financial planning tools (ie: Oracle, OneStream)
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
- You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
