Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As the Director, Commercialization, you will build and lead highly technical leaders and teams in the execution of seasonal product plans from initial prototyping through bulk approved, while ensuring a consistent level of quality, fit, and brand integrity.
This role is based out of our Hong Kong office and is expected to be performed on-location. (Role eligible for relocation/visa support, and this will be specified in kick-off and communicated to candidates verbally by Recruitment)

If you were in the Director, Commercialization – ALO role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • You lead, mentor and motivate the Commercialization Managers and Product Specialist teams to drive and execute seasonal product plans, key initiatives, and brand vision, according to business calendars. 
  • You collaborate with Product Creation Development, Sourcing, Quality and Raw Materials partners to ensure a clear understanding of product needs are considered throughout the product development and creation lifecycle. 
  • You collaborate with Supply Chain partners, Costing, Sourcing and Quality leadership to ensure your team delivers on efficiency, margin, and delivery requirements with product requirements. 
  • You partner with you partners in Fit in the development of brand fit concepts and enforce brand fit through consistent pattern processes. 
  • You ensure development best practice processes and procedures are understood by all teams and continually refined to meet changing business needs and design integrity. 
  • You provide input to short, mid and long-range plans to ensure resources are in line with product strategy. 
  • You monitor and report team performance metrics regularly to Product leadership. 
  • You challenge existing ways of working in pursuit of opportunities for product innovation and creation. 
  • You oversee a resourcing strategy for the team that will ensure support to meet Product Creations Development and Supply Chain goals and strategies. 
  • You ensure that Arc’teryx brand standards and innovation are met in all product categories. 
  • You continually assess and evolve the team to make sure that innovation is at the forefront of all projects and across all product categories. 
  • You are a key member of the Arc’teryx design leadership team and participate in broader organizational strategy and planning. 
  • Travel internally and/or domestically as needed, with a concentrated focus to visit to our T1 Partners on a regular cadence.

Are you our next Director, Commercialization – ALO?

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Apparel or Textile Design, Technology, Merchandising, or Engineering, along with 12+ years of leadership experience in design, development, or production 
  • You have proven leadership and project management skills in a cross functional apparel/textile environment 
  • You have an in-depth knowledge of apparel construction, material construction and properties, pattern making, costing, bill of materials, embroidery and surface applications 
  • You have proven skills in interpreting design intent and product innovation 
  • You have proven performance history with domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers 
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • You have intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office 
  • You set a clear vision, align your team around common objectives, and foster commitment to these objectives 
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions 
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity 
  • You are able to balance autonomy and collaboration 
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement 
  • You seek the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment  
  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it 
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is HKD $952,937.11 – HKD $1,057,527.77 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
