Job Description

As the Store Manager, you will lead the Salomon retail experience at our Woodbury Common Premium Outlet location. With your entrepreneurial spirit and operational savvy, you will ensure financial success, operational efficiency, and excellent customer experiences in a hybrid outlet model that includes both self-service and full-service zones.

The Store Manager is responsible for building and leading a high-performing store team to:

The Store Manager provides the highest level of customer experience and delivers the brand vision, mentoring the Assistant Store Manager and Retail Sales Associates in both personal and career development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily:

Leadership

  • Motivate and inspire the team through a clear, authentic brand vision
  • Manage the store’s balanced scorecard (people, operations, finance, customer) to deliver consistently high-performing results
  • Adjust leadership approach based on the unique pace and demands of an outlet retail environment

Customer Experience

  • Ensure the team understands customer expectations in both self-service and full-service shopping zones
  • Be present and visible on the sales floor, leading by example
  • Cultivate a culture of approachability, helpfulness, and brand knowledge across all customer interactions

Operations

  • Manage inventory levels and replenishment cycles appropriate for an outlet store with high turnover and promotional cadence
  • Partner with the Director, Retail Stores – North America to deliver operational best practices
  • Oversee safety and compliance with all health standards
  • Create effective schedules that support peak times and promotional events
  • Ensure company policies and visual standards are understood and adopted

Sales and Finance

  • Manage payroll and staffing to balance efficiency with service needs
  • Lead loss prevention efforts and ensure asset protection protocols are followed
  • Monitor sales trends and outlet performance data to inform product focus
  • Deliver the P&L and KPIs in line with budget and forecast

Recruitment, Training, and Development

  • Lead recruitment for all store roles, ensuring a team that thrives in a fast-paced outlet environment
  • Deliver onboarding and ongoing product and service training, tailored for the unique outlet experience
  • Support team members in setting and achieving career development goals

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of retail management experience, preferably in outlet or high-volume specialty retail
  • Experience managing teams of 10+ in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and retail systems
  • Enthusiasm for mountain sports and lifestyle products
  • Ability to adapt to a blended service model with both self-service and full-service expectations

Availability Expectations

General Availability:

  • Employees must be adaptable to the business’s evolving needs. The Store Manager, in collaboration with the Director, Retail Store – North America, will determine availability requirements. This schedule may include various shifts such as mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Peak Period Availability:

  • Black Friday: All employees are expected to be available to work on Black Friday (the day after US Thanksgiving).
  • Holiday Season: Availability is required from the second week of December until the end of the holiday season. The exact end date will be determined annually, based in part on the period during which guests can return holiday merchandise.

Role Accountability:

  • Fully accountable for all Store Manager responsibilities, with potential to perform other management duties as needed.

 

Additional Information

Salary Range: At the time of this posting, the estimated salary pay range from $70,000 USD to $90,000 USD. This range varies depending on the market location and type of store. Individual pay within this range will be determined based on factors such as job-specific skills, relevant experience, education, and training.

Please note that the mentioned pay range represents the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits package.

Hours: Full Time 40 hours per week
