The District Manager manages and develops the Vans Retail and Franchising Strategy in our stores in the Center and South of Italy, inspiring the store teams to provide excellence in customer experience, merchandising presentation, and operational efficiencies.
This position is responsible for managing our direct and franchising stores to meet the objectives and the goals of the Company and enhance the brand image with both internal and external customers.
The ideal candidate will provide leadership and direction to the store teams, to create an environment that ensures customer satisfaction, maximum productivity and profitability, translating and implementing Company and Brand business plans and strategies.
Sales and Profitability:Maximize the net profit of stores by setting direction and providing support towar ds Company objectives in sales, expenses, and inventory control;
Partner regularly with Retail Operations and other corporate functions to drive business and execute the Brand strategy;
Provide regular feedback regarding sales KPIs and perform regular audits of store quality against objectives and recommend changes when necessary.
Operations:Analyze various reports to identify ways to leverage opportun ities to increase sales and stores KPIs, using data and trends to provide recommendations to maximize opportunities and limit liabilities;
Monitor and measure financial, operational, human resources, and customer service results and hold teams accountable for achieving store and district goals through ongoing store visits;
Serve as a liaison between the field organization and the corporate business partners (Finance, Operations, Product, Real Estate, Loss & Prevention).
Human Resource Mana gement:Recruit, hire, train, and coach store leadership teams, counseling store managers and sales staff with training and selling techniques to reach their fullest potential and maximize business performance;
Oversee the annual Performance Appraisal process and the Personal Development Plans and provide direction and support to the Store Managers, developing and maintaining a succession plan for the key positions;
Promote an e nvironment that encourages participation, creativity, and learning by sharing best practices and building on the ideas of others within and across districts, respecting background, experience, and cultural differences of each person.
Visual Merchandising:Ensure the visual presentation and merchandising aspects of the stores are consistent with the Company standards;
Oversee the execution and implementation of merchandising and visual merchandising as specified by Brand directives;
Pro vide regular and constructive feedbacks to visual merchandising teams regarding the visual presentation in the stores, the execution, the success and the opportunities for ongoing improvements, also through competitive market analysis;
Brand Experience / Customer Service:Ensure excellence in customer service in all stores by modeling Brand specific service standards, as well as by monitoring customer feedbacks and re sponding to and addressing all customer concerns quickly;
Lead the store teams to engage with each customer to create an authentic Brand experience;
Promote that store teams are active brand ambassadors within the community through proactively seeking opportunities to engage with our customers and support or participate in community initiatives outside the four walls of the store.
Loss Prevention and Compliance:Ensure compliance and adherence to policies and procedures, defining contr ol-related standards and practices;
Guarantee high level standards on Company safety, security, and shrink avoidance policies and programs;
Protect company assets and partner with Loss & Prevention department to identify trends and translate strategies into action to meet district and company shrink goals.
Experience: at least 10 years of relevant and progres sive experience in Retail in complex organizations;
Education: University Degree or equivalent, preferably in Business or Economics;
Strong knowledge of Italian retail and franchising channel plus the Lifestyle Industry;
Proven ability to meet and exceed sales and profit results;
Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to influence business partners at all levels;
Decision making and ability to plan and work independently while balancing and shifting priorities;
Proven ability to adapt quickly to ambiguity and new and uncharted initiatives that become necessary to succeed in the very dynamic retail world and allocate time to execute multiple tasks and changing priorities;
