Overview

Position Summary:
Ensure on time and accurate prototype samples throughout seasonal milestones that meet cost targets and are suitable for production environment. As a member of the product creation team, align with the Stratham, New Hampshire SMU Product Development processes and deliverables. Maintain all required documentation and product integrity with respect to last development, upper development, material and component development.

Key Responsibilities:
– Project Management – Manage assigned SMU projects from line start to commercialization to achieve on time buy ready. Workload to be concentrated on NU and CU SMU projects. complexity projects with exposure to increasingly complex projects. Manage pre-costing and seasonal cost analysis and problem solving on all assigned projects. Work proactively with Development Director to problem solve in a timely manner. Maintain connectivity to Stratham Product development and mirror process and deliverables. Sample Management – Monitor, track, organize and distribute all related development samples, including fit samples, Customs pre-classification and Product Tear Down set up.
– Participate in product related meetings with accounts, design, costing and product management. Assume responsibility during product review meeting for assigned projects. Manage seasonal development of non-leather materials for seasonal projects.
– Build a clear understanding and execution/management of seasonal development SMU calendar along with the specific SMU development process. and FEIII commercialization calendars to PM/Design. Maintain connectivity to Stratham Product development and mirror process and deliverables.
– Manage mold development from initial drawing to confirmation in conjunction with CAD, Design, Development Team and Engineering. Work with Development Team and Engineering on Blueprints and 3d files, demonstrate the ability to problem solve independently.
– In collaboration with Stratham:
* Fit – Work collaboratively with Engineering team to fully understand fit on all projects. Participate in Model fit and Extreme fitting sessions.
* Material – Determine new material development for testing, lab reports and catalog of all passed materials.
* Lasts – Partner with Development Team and Engineering on seasonal Last development
– Maintain assigned seasonal updates to PLM (for example outsole numbers, factory, specs, color cads, pattern/sku attributes, leather)
– Shadow Developer Director/Lead Developer/Technical Lead/ Engineer to expand knowledge on all aspects of the footwear process, e.g. the development cycle, blueprints, last development, relevant constructions.
– Demonstrate desire, motivation and a passion to increase depth of knowledge and become an asset to the team.

Job Requirements:
– 5-8 years of professional experience;
– Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Engineering, Industrial Design or related field;
– Knowledge of Leather and Last Development. Knowledge of current footwear manufacturing processes;
– Travel to overseas manufacturing facilities 2-4 times per year top manage problem solving for seasonal development projects and to gain experience with vendors and suppliers;
– Ability to work in a fast paces environment with cross-functional teams while handling multiple tasks; Enthusiastic and able to work in a cross functional capacity. Flexible and open to change;
– Able to work independently. Demonstrates a strong desire to increase footwear development knowledge;
– Travel to overseas manufacturing facilities 2-4 times per year top manage problem solving for seasonal development projects and to gain experience with vendors and suppliers;
– Ability to work in a fast paces environment with cross-functional teams while handling multiple tasks; Enthusiastic and able to work in a cross functional capacity. Flexible and open to change;
– Able to work independently. Demonstrates a strong desire to increase footwear development knowledge;
– Strong analytic and problem solving skills. Recognition of process cause and effect;
– Quantitative and PC skills, PLM experience preferred;
– Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to organize information and effectively communicate with our multi-lingual teams.
– Up to 20% Travel required.
