Le coq sportif is a French sporting goods and apparel manufacturer, established in 1882 in Romilly-sur-Seine – France. Founded by Emile Camuset, le coq sportif is one of the first sports brands created in the world, and quickly became THE sport brand in France, supporting amateurs, professionals, clubs and federations.

The company is particularly involved in world professional sports.

In the 1970s and 1980s the brand enjoyed a high reputation, particularly among French consumers. As an equipment manufacturer, le coq sportif supplied the clear majority of football and rugby clubs.

In 2004, Marc-Henri Beausire and Robert Louis-Dreyfus, relaunched the company through a Swiss investment company, Airesis, which is today the majority shareholder.

The brand has been investing in sports marketing since 2012, with the Tour de France, Saint-Etienne football team, Racing 92 rugby team, ACF Fiorentina football team and, from 2018, the French Rugby Federation.

The brand opened a new development center in 2010 and a new production center in 2012 in the Romilly-sur-Seine – France. 90% of the textile raw materials of the brand are developed in France.

To accelerate its development, le Coq Sportif now wants to establish a direct presence in Germany – market that was previously developed through a license agreement.

 

It is in this context that the le Coq Sportif search its Sales Manager

 

  1. Position

Headline: Sales Manager

Reporting to Sales Director Europe and Global Sales Director

 

Main responsibilities:

A true ambassador of the brand, the sales manager’s main task is the development of the customer portfolio within the brand’s trade and distribution policies

His/her commitment is to identify, to explore, to open and run a network of retailers and key accounts in line with the business strategy of the company.

He/her should also use good practices and sell-in/sell-out tools provided by the company and be accountable for both sell-in and sell-out performance.

 

Main activities:

  • Identification and prospecting of retailers in the area
  • Sell-in
  • sell-out support: product merchandising, visual merchandising, in-store animation
  • Training of store staff
  • reporting
  • Support for the export team

 

Location :

  • Munich or Stuttgart

 

 

  1. Profile

You have a confirmed experience of 3 years minimum in a sales and business development position and a good knowledge of sports distribution in Germany.

You have a high energy, and good analytical/synthesis skills.

You take initiatives and you are proactive when dealing with sales and business development opportunities.

You have good relationship skills and you are a good team player when it comes to work with the various people involved in your project.

You master German and English languages.

French is appreciated.
