JOB MISSION:

The Senior Retail Management Accountant will act as a finance business partner to our Retail department across several European entities. The person in this position will work closely with business leaders and across finance to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful information on performance, as well as assist in both short and long-term strategic plans.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Full ownership of profit and loss reporting, balance sheet reviews, and month-end accounting (prepayment, accruals) across several European entities.
  • Be the finance lead in year-end audits, financial statement preparation, and external reporting across each entity.
  • Act as the key point of contact with external advisors for corporation tax preparation.
  • Take control of forecasts and budgets for both profit and loss and balance sheets across each entity.
  • Be the finance lead for EMEA retail inventory and goods in transit reconciliations.
  • Provide commentary on retail performance within each entity to the DTC Retail Finance Manager and business leads to inform commercial decision-making.
  • Assist in the preparation of retail monthly business review packs.
  • Provision of management information, KPI analysis, and ad hoc requests to business partners, delivering insights to drive both short-term results and long-term strategic plans.
  • Assist the EMEA Management and Commercial Accounts team as necessary on both day-to-day tasks, new system implementations, and any new projects.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
  • A minimum of 2 years post-qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / RA / AA or accounting equivalent).
  • Knowledge and experience working in a similar role within a Direct to Consumer organisation preferred.
  • English language proficiency is required as the working language is English.
  • Team player
  • Strong communication skills, and ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues.
  • Highly organised, structured, able to manage priorities and work to tight deadlines.
  • Motivated with a pro-active mindset focussed on continual improvement of reporting.
  • High degree of accuracy and a strong eye for detail.
  • Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills and ability to pick up new IT systems quickly.
