At a Glance:

As Graphic Designer with a special focus on our Apparel range, you will be responsible for driving On’s graphic design projects and language from a creative and strategic perspective across all of our verticals.

This role will bring you to work on a wide spectrum of projects with a the focus on developing artworks, graphics and guidelines for our in-line collections while at the same time collaborating very closely with regions and markets on graphical applications for events. You are thrilled working on a wide spectrum of projects going from applied projects to more cutting-edge ones.

You are a strong team player that brings outstanding knowledge in graphic design and trends in this specific field and are always looking for innovation in prints, transfers and applications onto textiles. Your attention to details, sharp eye for design and eagerness to learn will elevate our highly technical, established apparel range in terms of process and brand experience.

Your Team:

Your will be working with On’s highly creative CMF team, driven by innovation, performance and sustainability. You will be rooted in our design team which includes CMF, footwear, apparel and accessories designers who all closely collaborate with our developers, Product Managers, innovation team and markets. 

Within the apparel team you will be shaping the future On’s graphical products with a high focus on sustainability on top of your mind when looking into our future collections.

Your Mission:

  • Collaborate very closely with the Apparel Design and Product Management Team on creating and defining branding guidelines for our apparel collection
  • Designing cutting edge artworks and prints for our in-house and specials collections that are rooted in the DNA of the brand and apparel collection
  • Approving and supporting local markets on branding applications for smaller and bigger events that tie back to guideline you will create
  • Together with the CMF and Design Team define and design elements that will connect our products together from apparel, footwear and accessories from a graphical design language
  • Emphasise seasonal colors and finishes in your projects and foresee how specific materials will pick up prints by translating and adjusting artwork and color choices accordingly
  • Keeping an eye for the unusual, design trends and new material technologies that will inspire your daily work that you are able to transcribe into great ideas and share with a wider team along with CMF and design team
  • Owning projects from concepts through final delivery by collaborating very closely with our Zurich based development team and our partners on creating and handing over clear briefs and improving the color and material process for production
  • Pro-actively hunt trends in regards to latest print/transfer technologies in the industry and always challenge our standards in this field

Your Story:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in graphic design and/or visual communication
  • 3+ years of experience in the apparel industry or graphic design studio as graphic designer
  • Strong portfolio mixing typographic/illustrative works and applied branding
  • Strong passion for sports and materials with great understanding of how surfaces and fabrics pick up different transfer and print applications as well as the ability to translate those into products
  • Innovative mindset with a strong drive to push the boundaries of apparel design
  • Structured mind with ability to manage multiple complex projects whilst sticking to critical timelines, deadlines and overlaps
  • Strong communication skills and highly positive team player with ability to work seamlessly across multiple teams and easily translate ideas to peers
  • Excellent 2D software skills (Adobe CS), 3D textile rendering skills are definitely a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
